Last English Presentation Class with Beloved Madam Baiti

Time flies, our English classes with Madam Baiti have ended.

I feel so blessed and lucky to be in her class .

Her teaching and  encouragement are blessing all the students boundlessly and influentially.

Overall, Madam Baiti  thinks that our class is quite good and lively.

In return, we all agree that we have a great and experienced teacher.

We gain so much from her and learn to be a better presenter with good spoken English. 

Her loves and passion in teaching people correct English are the motivation and driving power.

Her noble actions really inspire us directly that, our life can be more influential and benefiting the others.

Since there are so many people need a correct and proper English, Madam Baiti takes the trouble to share her knowledge to whoever eager to learn.

"The mother hen and all her happy chicks! What a great family! Although it was a last lecture, we are lucky we are on Proficiency English II as we can continue our friendship and our bond here!"

Train Accidents can happen anywhere even in Melbourne though where people are more literate train wreck rules sometimes can not be avoided. In an effort to reduce the number of serious and fatal accidents on its rail network, Metro Melbourne launched a safety campaign created by McCann, Melbourne, entitled "Dumb Ways to Die"

The video highlights the many dumb ways there are to die, with being hit by a train – a very preventable death – among them.

Catchy songs and music videos that starred a bunch of colorful beans monsters designed to clearly capture the reality of train accidents that could have been prevented and would never have happened if the people involved do not do anything stupid.

It concludes with “the dumbest ways to die” – standing on the edge of a train station platform, driving through a level crossing and running across the tracks between platforms, and the message: “Be safe around trains”.

Three good thing about this video is :

• it make us think about the implied message
• the catchy lyric is suitable for everyone to learn.
• the video is attract people to view and view it for many time

                Three bad thing about this video is:

• the visual of cartoon is frighten and formidable in cute way for kids
• the lyric; Dumb ways To die . (Dumb is not a good word to say)
• there are no bad thing about this video. because it it cute. 

It’s happy and silly and joyful and clever and more than a little odd; the intangible things that are so hard to rationalise, but so very important.”

Current Issues : Petrol Saving

Since our goverment has increased the fuel price, lets stop rioting or complaining and instead,start thinking on how to save our fuel. Here's a few tips on how to save your petrol =)
Well first of all, as we all know acceleration consumes petrol right? Try to avoid high speeds on open roads. Which will also increase safety during travelling. For example accelerating from 90km/hour to 110km/hour on highways will increase fuel consumption by 25%.

The other thing that drivers love to do is leaving their engine on while waiting for someone. Idling the engine consumes more fuel rather then turning it off and on again. Waiting in the car while the engine is running is also dangerous deal to the chemical released by the car airconds. So while you are waiting for ur loved ones or simply your friends, turn off ur engine to save petrol and save the enviroment.

Using a thicker tire means more rolling resistance, hence consuming more petrol. But this also decreases the controling of the car, so its not very advisible for new drivers. Keeping ur tires pumped to its required pressure will also contribute in saving your fuel. Besides all that, keeping ur air filters clean also might help. Because when the air filters are clogged up, less airflow to the engine, thus it is harder for combustion.

If you follow all of these steps, i am very sure u will see results. And also try to avoid places with traffic, use the radio for traffic reports. There is nothing we cant achieve when we put our minds to it

Charts and Graphs

"A picture is worth a thousand words." This is certainly true when you're presenting and explaining data. You can provide tables setting out the figures, and you can talk about numbers, percentages, and relationships forever. However, the chances are that your point will be lost if you rely on these alone. Put up a graph or a chart, and suddenly everything you're saying makes sense!

Graphs or charts help people understand data quickly. Whether you want to make a comparison, show a relationship, or highlight a trend, they help your audience "see" what you are talking about.

The trouble is there are so many different types of charts and graphs that it's difficult to know which one to choose. 

To figure out what orders to give, you need to have a good understanding of the mechanics of charts, graphs and diagrams. We'll show you the basics using four very common graph types:

• Line graph
• Bar graph
• Pie chart
• Venn diagram
• Histrogram

•  A bar graph is composed of discrete bars that represent different categories of data. The length or height of the bar is equal to the quantity within that category of data.  Bar graphs are best used to compare values across categories. 

• A pie chart is a circular chart used to compare parts of the whole.  It is divided into sectors that are equal in size to the quantity represented.
• As such it shows a percentage distribution. The entire pie represents the total data set and each segment of the pie is a particular category within the whole.

• A line graph displays the relationship between two types of information, such as number of school personnel trained by year.  They are useful in illustrating trends over time. 
• Line graphs simply use a line to connect the data points that you plot. They are most useful for showing trends, and for identifying whether two variables relate to (or "correlate with") one another.

• A histogram has connected bars that display the frequency or proportion of cases that fall within defined intervals or columns.  The bars on the histogram can be of varying width and typically display continuous data.

• The last graph we will cover here is the Venn diagram. Devised by the mathematician John Venn in 1881, this is a diagram used to show overlaps between sets of data.
• Each set is represented by a circle. The degree of overlap between the sets is depicted by the overlap between circles.

Profession

Well today in our English class, we were discussing about Profession !!

Profession  - a job that you need special skills and qualifications to do, especially one with high social status .

                        -    a paid occupation, especially one that involves prolonged training and a formal qualification

So Madam Baiti divide us in groups and ask us to choose our Profession that we gonna act in class .  There were 9 profession that were given , so our group choose Environmental Journalist. The reason whe choose this is because it was based our course that were taking , that is Diploma in Environmental Health .

* Environmental journalism is the collection, verification, production, distribution and exhibition of information regarding current events, trends, issues and people that are associated with the non-human world with which humans necessarily interact.

The impact of English class in my life…!

English subject is not always about learning and studying correct grammars and spelling; it is not always about punctuation marks and capitalization; it is not always about sentences and paragraphs yet the most important thing is that in ENGLISH CLASS, we learn the ways of life.

Yes, at English class we always study about grammars, punctuations, parts of speech, etc but however, I also learned that in this class, you can study and survive life and its complications.

This class have proved me that it is not always about those things but it helped me realized the ways of dealing with other people with different shapes and sizes, races. Because each person you interact with varies in their perceptions. For example is through verbal and non-verbal communication, you said “hi” to one person then in your eyes, that person sees loneliness in you. And when you tell a lie, at times, non-verbal communication don’t always correspond to what you are saying because also with the impact of your own conscience. One thing I kept deep in my mind is that think twice before you speak in order to avoid miscommunications and watch out for non-verbal communications like rising of eyebrows because some might misinterpret it.

One thing also is about defence mechanisms that you can really apply to real life. Defence mechanisms are used to hide your true identity and sometimes, defence mechanisms are sources of conflict in people. You use these mechanisms in order to hide or to lie to people around you to save yourself. Some uses these defence mechanisms out of their curiosity. They don’t even fathom to themselves that they are using such.

Anything which is taken/used too much is hazardous to self and to other people.
